anniedog: I saw this on the way home from Bath last week and leapt out of the car, getting my red boots all covered in mud in the process. It's not often you see light like this.
Ingrid
If only you could bottle light like this and take it with you
anniedog: You'd be onto a winner if you could! I just leapt out the car when I saw it, and managed to get a few shots before it disappeared.

Oh, what a wonderful light, a wonderful yellow (without any photographical manipulation?), fine snaking lines are leading to the background - it could be just before a storm is comig up- the sky has clouded, got darkened (hat sich verdunkelt), a wind is blowing at the grass- I love this mood and recall a painting of Corot...!
anniedog: This was just after very heavy rain on my way home one day last week, and suddenly the rain cleared and the low sun came out. No manipulation here at all - this is just how it was.

Bill has a wonderful idea! I would follow him!
anniedog: We might get bored with it if we had it all the time - like having day after day of blue skies and sunshine!

This is a fabulous image, I can feel the autumn coming soon, wind is blowing, rain and hail to come..... I can keep going on.
A likey to me
anniedog: thanks Astrid - Autumn is well and truly here now but we have been lucky and have had some glorious sunny days with autumn colour. The rain had passed and the sun suddenly came out when I was on my way home the other week.
Ingrid
anniedog: How nicely put Ginnie. It's something I'm interested in and currently looking into - sometimes those moments occur when you become very aware of your surroundings and your place in them - a kind of heightened consciousness.

What a gorgeous scene. I know just the kind of day this probably was, sunshine and rain like we had yesterday. This is the most gorgeous light in the blackened sky. Awesome!!!
anniedog: Thanks Mary - it had been raining hard all the way home and then I was suddenly aware of the dark sky lit by the low sunshine coming through the clouds, leapt out of my car and took a few shots before it equally quickly disappeared!

A French pastoral scene. Pure Barbizon. Only need a lonely figure of a peasant to qualify for one of Jean-Francois Millet's . LOL
My hat is off, Ms. Ingrid.
anniedog: We're a bit short on peasants round here Viktor! This was one of those moments that don't happen very often - totally awe-inspiring but very brief.
Ingrid
This really is Autumn light with a vengence Ingrid, what a lovely colour it is especially reflecting back off the grass and then there is that wonderful background sky. One of your best recently IMHO.
anniedog: Thanks for the compliment Brian - I'm glad you appreciate it. The word vengeance seems very appropriate in this case!

Browsing the archives, this one stood out for me like a beacon. I love it.
Even so, I think you could make it even stronger with a bit of dodging and burning to make an even greater contrast between the stormy sky and the sun on the wavy grass.
This is a perfectly balanced image and should make a cracking poster.
anniedog: Thanks very much - I'm glad you like it, but I'm not sure I agree with you about the dodging and burning. The whole point of this series has been that all the pictures have been totally authentic and unadulterated. I don't go for that ultra-dramatic HDR look at all!
