This really fascinates me, Ingrid, because it looks like almost everyone is using photos in this cemetery. I've never seen that before.
anniedog: It's because this is Italy Ginnie! Most of the graves in Italy seem to have photographs on them. This is in the famous cemetery in Venice on the island of San Michele.

Father & son perhaps Ingrid?
anniedog: They are the same person - a younger and older version!

Cos nostra corner of the graveyard?
anniedog: It certainly looks that way!
I find the use of pictures on graves rather unsettling. I would worry that i would frighten passing children
anniedog: I rather like it, though there are some rather dour ones around! This is in the island cemetery in Venice.
This gives me the creeps Ingrid.
anniedog: Me too, but I love it!
Got to agree with Michael Ingrid, I never have liked photos on gravestones, and these are much larger than any I have seen.
anniedog: These are in Italy where most things seem to be larger than life! I rather like the custom of putting photographs on graves - it makes them seem more personal somehow.
I first saw this type of thing in a cemetery in Austria and to be honest found it a bit disturbing.
anniedog: Many people seem to agree with you Brian, but I rather like the custom. This is in Venice.

I like this Ingrid - works very well in B&W - is it in England?
anniedog: Thanks Frank - it was originally in colour but I agree looks better in b/w. This is actually in Venice.
