Sorry about the lack of activity - have been away so haven't been able to look at any blogs. Normal service will be resumed tomorrow! Found out yesterday that I got a Distinction for my work, so I am well pleased!

there is a bittersweetness here that connects me to this photograph, Ingrid.
anniedog: I'm glad that this comes through in the photograph and that you can sense it Kathryn. Thank you.
Ingrid
Well done with your Distinction Ingrid
anniedog: Thanks very much Vintage.
Ingrid
Congratulations on your Distinction, Ingrid! Why does that not surprise me!!
anniedog: Thank you for your confidence in me Ginnie! It's not always so easy to feel confidence in yourself.
Ingrid
Distinction eh! ... A nod for you Ingrid.
Soft tones and light .... mmmm richard
anniedog: Thanks Richard - glad to get your approval!
Ingrid
many congratulations Ingrid - well deserved I'm sure.
So many possible stories in this shot!
anniedog: Thank you Paul. I seem to have just replied to your comment just now without looking at which photograph it was - I'm running a day behind so have got a bit confused! Of course, the letter and the open window can have many interpretations.
Ingrid
Perfect composition and capture. Whats the distinction for/in? CONGRATS
anniedog: Thanks for your praise. I have been studying for a BTEC National Diploma in Photography for the last two years and this series was for my final project. It has been a lot of hard work - full time 4 days a week, but very enjoyable and I have learnt such a lot.
Ingrid
Thank you for the explanation, Ingrid. I was just about to remove you from my buddies list. Only joking of course. This is an intruiging mystery. I cannot wotk out how all the little marks came about.
anniedog: You can't get rid of me that easily! The marks on the windowsill are candlewax and the marks on the window are dirt! My most unfavourite job in the whole house is cleaning the windows.
Ingrid
If it was based on this series then it is no more than you deserve. Well done Ingrid.
anniedog: Thank you Bill for your congratulations. I got a distinction for this project, but I also got a distinction overall for the whole course. Each module is marked Pass, Merit or Distinction and they get added up at the end. It's been a lot of hard work but well worth it.
Ingrid
Well done Ingrid, this picture, together with the other ones in the series, are worthy of high praise.
anniedog: Thank you Brian. I'm so glad you think so.
Ingrid
This one brings all sorts of posibilities to mind, but especially a sort of sadness like when someone close is missed, very powerful. Congrats on your results I wouldn't have expected any less.
anniedog: How very perceptive of you, because that is precisely what this is about. Thank you for your appreciation.
Ingrid
congrats!
more window wistful, dreamy 'possibilities are out there' goodness I bet these images jump from the walls when they are together and stylishly framed
anniedog: Thank you Karima. I framed them in plain black frames with off-white mounts and they did look good together on the wall as a series, rather than seen individually like this.
Ingrid
Don't tell me you sat right down and wrote yourself a letter, Ingrid.
I sense a hint of an elusive sorrow in this shot. Very simple, I'd say Makoto-esque, photograph. I like it a lot.
anniedog: You are probably right about the sorrow here Viktor - I suppose it can't help but come out. Thanks for your praise - I'm more than happy to be compared to Makoto because, like you, I really like his work.
Ingrid
I feel like repeating myself Ingrid, but your skill to capture the light is amazing!
Bravo for your Distinction.
anniedog: Thanks for that Richard. As far as I'm concerned it's all about the light.
Ingrid
and so you should have, CONGRATULATIONS Ingrid, totally deserved from what i see and here is another
anniedog: Thanks Tim - I'm glad that you are appreciating them so much. I expect I'll come back down to earth soon!
Ingrid
.a letter to a friend ;o)
anniedog: Probably one of the last.
Ingrid
Distinction is Such a wonderful word
anniedog: It does have a certain ring to it!
Ingrid
Your series is proving thought provoking. Well done on your distinction.
anniedog: Thanks Nigel. Thought-provoking is good!
Ingrid
Congratulations, you deserve it, but well who am I, I do hope the carrier-pigeon will find this open window and take this letter to........
anniedog: Thanks Astrid - your opinion is highly valued. A nice thought about the carrier pigeon, but sadly, a little late for that...
Ingrid
A great serie! I like all your pictures!
anniedog: Thank you Jose Angel. It's good to hear that.
