The catseye graveyard - I dedicate this one to you Chad!

It appears the aliens have landed!
anniedog: And they're coming to a location near you! You're right - they don't look like anything earthly.
Ingrid
OMG! A graveyard for Chad to find replacements! I didn't know such a thing existed, Ingrid!
anniedog: Don't worry - I won't divulge the location to him, otherwise we might never see the end of these catseye pictures!
Ingrid
Amazing why would they keep them
anniedog: I asked myself the same question! These look well rusted too.
Ingrid
'Big brother is watching YOU'
Ingrid this is priceless, if only these guys could talk....I hope Chad sees them. This would be a terrific shot in the dusk too, only with the eyes reflecting using a flashlight.....
anniedog: Yes, they do look rather unnerving en masse like this. I took this shot some time ago, so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't still be there. Shame.
Ingrid
Oh great Ingrid! He & I are going to London today - so I shall expect to hear a TORRENT OF PRAISE for this wonderful picture!
anniedog: I hope you had a good time. This one does seem to have found favour with Chad, for obvious reasons!
Ingrid
this has rendered me open-mouthed and speechless
where did you find these utterly abject objects?
anniedog: An unusual sight, I'll grant you! They were at the back of a building which had been converted to an art gallery somewhere in Wiltshire - there was a whole pile of junk - discarded doors, chairs, bricks etc, probably waiting to be reused, but what use they could find for these, I just cannot fathom!
Ingrid
I didnt have a clue what these were at first, excellent close up, i thought they were huge
anniedog: I suppose it's because they are seen out of context that they are difficult to recognise!
Ingrid
ha ha h ha ha ha ha ha I am so impressed that you sought out and found this little place. They look far from dead. They look angry. Wonderful photograph, Astrid.
anniedog: Well, I knew, of course that you would like this one! This was actually taken some time ago but I just remembered I had it, so dug it out for you. You're right - they look very angry. Probably angry at being dug out of the road and left to rust in a heap.
INGRID
OH wonderful! This should be framed and hung round Chad's neck.
anniedog: Perhaps I'll do him a print specially!
Ingrid
they look slightly sinister assembled like that
anniedog: They certainly do - they could have come off a Dr. Who set!
Ingrid
This is a pretty interesting photo, I keep staring at it but i cant at all tell what it really is.
anniedog: They are catseyes - perhaps you don't call them that in America. They are sunk into the centre of the road and reflect the car headlights so you can see the road better. I'm sure you must have them! they just look odd because you are not seeing them in their usual situation.
Ingrid
My cats-eye recognition book ( published by Mr A Doveton) seems to suggest that the one in the bottom right hand corner has significant qualities and is a definate 'must have'collectors piece.
What an amazing find ... please spill the beans on the location of this image
anniedog: Definitely highly collectable! This was at the back of a building converted into an art gallery in Wiltshire - the yard was full of old stuff like doors, chairs, bits of wood, bricks and these. Perhaps they were going to use them as an art installation!
Ingrid
Great capture Ingrid. They really look like aliens. Very well spotted!
anniedog: Thanks Richard - very cross looking aliens too!
Ingrid
Very sinister Ingrid, well spotted indeed.
anniedog: Thanks Les - evil looking little things, aren't they?
Ingrid
I'm astounded at this photo Ingrid, where on earth did you find this lot, and then have the good sense to take such a good shot.
anniedog: They were lurking at the back of an old building converted into an art gallery in Wiltshire. I was nosing around and luckily had my camera with me!
Ingrid
Spooky! Excellent find and shot ;o)
anniedog: Spooky indeed - they could give you nightmares!
Ingrid
This is so creepy. Dare I ask - what are these??? Am I missing something??
anniedog: These are catseyes - sunk into the middle of the road normally, that's why they look strange because they are out of context.
Ingrid
LOL. War of the Worlds on a little scale
anniedog: Thanks Mick - that would make a good title!
Ingrid
LOL brilliant shot Ingrid and i had to lol at chads response
anniedog: Thanks Tim. Well, we knew he would like it, didn't we?
Ingrid
These look like aleins!
anniedog: Yes, there's been an invasion!
Ingrid
Another good shot, Ingrid. I like this composition!
anniedog: Thanks Jose Angel - glad you like it.
Ingrid
Missed this - must have been away when you posted. It's funny and a bit creepy all at once. My first thought was sarcophagi.
anniedog: I agree that they do look rather sinister Ian - as though they are watching our every move.
