This is a lovely subtle shot Ingrid
anniedog: Thanks Chris - light falling through a window like this is hard to resist.
Ingrid
This is my favorite one thus far, Ingrid! Very soulful....
anniedog: Thank you Ginnie - I think it's my favourite too.
Ingrid
A delightful and warm toned image, Ingrid, remeniscent of you previous window photographs showing a world beyond the immediate. The centrality of this is challenging too, but works fine (I think)
anniedog: Glad you approve Chad. I never thought of any other way to compose this than centrally, I have to admit.
Ingrid
it is a beauty
is this where The Black One incarcerates you if your housekeeping/cooking falls below his exacting standards
anniedog: Yes Jude. As you can imagine he is a terrible tyrant in the home. The mere thought of a spell in the room without a view is enough to keep me on my toes (though it doesn't work as far as window-cleaning goes!)
Ingrid
Ingrid, I make this a likey, this one is so full of serenity, the colours are so great...it has a touch of melancholy (I did not bring my dictionary with me, but I think you get the picture)
Have a great day.
anniedog: Melancholy is a very good word to describe the feelings this elicits. Thanks for your appreciation as always, Astrid.
Ingrid
This would make a great canvas Ingrid
Love it
anniedog: I'll get Blackdog working on it right away! thank you.
Ingrid
Best one so far...I've got a jug somewhere in my archive would go nicely on there
anniedog: Perhaps you could Photoshop it in! glad you approve.
Ingrid
Ingrid as other have sugested this is the best so far,Ilike the tones of the colours
anniedog: Thanks Vintage. This one seems to be the most popular so far. Glad you like it.
Ingrid
This looks very comfortable and warm. Nicely done!
anniedog: Looks are very deceiving - this is actually a ruined castle with no roof!
Ingrid
My favourite so far tom and i like the irony in your coment
anniedog: Thanks Nigel - it's not a view I would choose, but then, it is in a ruined castle!
Ingrid
Many many years ago I saw French film involving the relationship between an old widow and a young boy. She lived in such an abode with walls outside her window. He used mirrors to reflect the sunlight into her room. This reminds me very much of that film. richard
anniedog: That sounds like a fascinating film - I don't suppose you remember the title? There are so many good images in films which would make fantastic stills - I always find myself looking at films with this in mind, and consequently miss out on lots of the dialogue!
Ingrid
superbly seen and executed Ingrid, another cracker, love the warm tones
anniedog: Thank you Tim - the warm tones are deceptive as this is quite a chilly and uncomfortable place - a ruined castle.
Ingrid
Wonderful shot Ingrid. I like the subtle lighting!
anniedog: Thanks Richard - glad you approve.
Ingrid
Not much of a view - but very nice light ;o)
anniedog: Thanks Mike - the light is certainly very appealing, but I don't go for the decor much!
Ingrid
now you're spoiling me ingrid
brilliant light play
anniedog: Thanks DrAW - the light was what attracted me.
Ingrid
I'm surprised other comments are so chirpy- I find this quite a sad (but very well taken and conceived) image, with that blank wall so depressingly close outside (my first home, which had a similar outlook and left me mentally scarred, maybe colours my judgement!
anniedog: You are right - this does have a somewhat melancholy air about it - it is in a ruined castle. I agree that the view out of the window must be very depressing! Thanks for your perceptive comments.
Ingrid
I like this Ingrid, I like the colours and I like the composition.
anniedog: Thanks Ellie - this seems to be a popular one. Glad you like it.
Ingrid
Superb lighting in this one - I get a certain summer feeling and at the same time it's a little bit sad in a way - difficult to explain...
anniedog: Thanks Aksel. It was in the summer, and I guess the nostalgic feeling comes from it being a ruin - there is always a sense of past lives lived in these places.
Ingrid
Great frame!
anniedog: Thanks Arash - I'm always attracted to windows as a photographic motif.
Ingrid
I like the sunlight in this window, well done
